TEEN PROGRAM DIRECTOR
Walter began his academic career at Southwest Christian Community Academy located at The Bridge Church in Houston, Texas. He would later attend school in both the Alief and Houston I.S.D. Afterwards, Walter spent two years attending school online at Texas Connections Academy where he earned an A – B Honor Roll. In 2016, Walter was accepted into the International Leadership of Texas Charter School, where he displayed great leadership within an international community and put an emphasis on servant leadership- awhile, participating in a trilingual advanced academic program. During eighth grade, Walter was honored with being named ‘The Great Debater’ and also received an ‘Athletic Achievement Award’ in Flag Football. He was recommended to participate in the ‘Houston Parks and Recreation 2017 Teen Symposium’ hosted by Houston Community College. Walter is currently working on multiple projects designed to provide sustainability for InnSeg Kids. He is an active volunteer at Alief Community Center and is recognized for his works by Innovative Segue partner organizations such as Parents Against Predators and AMAKU House. Walter looks to continue providing community service as needed via varying events throughout the Houston Metroplex in support of community awareness and outreach. Through his works at Innovative Segue, it is his mission to help with the vision of revitalizing the communities.
C.C.U. is a program designed to create, build and share in the creation of videos across various social platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and others. It is an environment where individuals can network, relationship build, work collectively and enjoy an educational group encompassing knowledge-sharing and developing content creation skills. The program provides opportunities to get involved in self-directed activities- via online or group chat. Some of the activities may include projects, independent reading and writing, video and computer time, etc.
An initiative geared towards providing entrepreneurship education and encouragement to aspiring youth that look to nurture their entrepreneurial visions. It is through guidance, practical management, marketing and technology solutions that Innovative Segue looks to teach these youth how to start and grow a business.
Annual ‘Alief’s Got Talent’ event hosted by Alief Community Center. A citywide event for children ages 13 – 18 yrs. We look for anyone involved in dance, rap, spoken word, comedy, singing & more!! It’s also an opportunity to recognize community heroes!!
The Walter and Caimen Show is a kids and teens segment as apart of “On Deck!!”- an online radio show which aired each Monday from 12pm – 4pm with Miss Nita, Big Jimmy and Douggie on Texas101jams. “On Deck!!” featured all of the latest in music, entertainment news, sports, politics, B2B, health, community and more. The Walter and Caimen Show serves as a platform for kids in pre-k through 5th grade and teens to welcome open discussion for topics that pertain to kids and the younger generation like kids interests, trending topics, social, family and life issues, education, sports, fashion, music, entertainment news, politics, B2B, health, community, etc.
